Day 4 - Lhasa

Lhasa, means Land of Gods to Tibetans is situated at 12,400 feet above sea level. Jokhang was build in 647 AD and remains the spiritual and the holiest center for all Tibetan Buddhist pilgrims. Norbulingkha was the summer palace of successive Dalai Lamas since 7th century and retains many personal possessions of Dalai Lama. Visit Jokhang and various monasteries. (B)

Day 5 - Lhasa

Potala Palace was built in 640 AD. The 13-story palace has over 1,000 rooms. Architecturally it is considered one of the wonders of the world. It is full of elaborate artwork and frescoes that portray religion, custom and traditions of Tibet. The Red Palace contains various chapels and mausoleums. The 5th Dalai Lama’s mausoleum is five story high and the enormous Chorten is gold covered and inlaid with diamonds, pearls, turquoise, agate and coral. The White Palace was the living quarters of successive Dalai Lamas. Visit Potala Palace, Norbulingkha and Drepung monasteries. (B)

Airfare: Participants may arrange their own passage to and from Kathmandu. Among others, Qatar, Etihad, Emirates, Thai Airways have scheduled flights to Kathmandu. Air India, Air Canada, Lufthansa, British, Singapore, and Swissair etc. have regular services to Delhi and Mumbai from where you can fly to Kathmandu. Please inquire with China Airlines or any other carrier that travels that route for AD75.00 If you do not qualify, add the airfare to the land cost.

General information, terms and conditions:.
The best time to travel in Tibet is between April and October when the climate is cool. Clothing should consists of layers which could be added or removed as temperature vary greatly, warm wind-breaker, comfortable walking shoe, Sun Glasses, chap-sticks, face cream, water bottle, woolen and cotton shirts / blouses and long-johns. Its lies mostly above 12,000 to 16,000 feet above sea level. No special inoculations are required but do consult your physician. People with problems of heart, lungs or anemia must consult a doctor prior to booking a trip to Tibet. Arrangements in Tibet are Government controlled and itinerary remains subject to change at their discretion. All confirmed bookings are subject to $ 200.00 p.p. handling fee. No refund for cancellation within 60 days of departure. Insurance coverage/ Waiver required. Multiple entry Nepal Visa are participants' responsibility. Facilities in Tibet are basic. Additional nights in Kathmandu are for $ 99.00 per person double occupancy.
